We asked Eric several questions to learn more about his experience working for Millennium and what his passions are outside of work.
What brought you to Millennium?
I was introduced to Millennium through an outside NetSuite/tech recruiter. It was during the very beginning of Covid, and many things were “unknown” in the economy. My previous employer was struggling to secure work as many companies were hesitant about spending money. So I asked my boss at that time if it would make things easier for him if I looked for another job. I think within about 2 weeks of me putting my name out there, I was introduced to Millennium, and 4 1/2 years later, I am still here!
Tell us about an accomplishment that you’re proud of:
A few years ago, I built our 48’x23′ carriage house—a three-plus car garage with a two-bedroom apartment above—largely on my own. Aside from hiring out a few key tasks like the concrete work, some framing, roofing, and gutters, I completed the rest of the project myself. Taking on this challenge not only gave me a huge sense of pride, but it also saved us over $120,000 compared to the turnkey quote we received from a contractor.
What’s a goal you have for yourself that you want to accomplish in the next year?
A personal goal I have for the next year is to make our backyard a more inviting and functional space for entertaining. Since we live in a historic district, the first step is getting approval for a fence and having it installed. From there, I want to create a thoughtful plan for how to best use the space.
Another major goal is to finish painting our house—the back side was repaired and painted last year, and I’d love to complete the remaining three sides this year.
What are you happiest doing when you’re not working?
Spending time in my workshop making something with my hands; I primarily love to do woodworking, but I have recently done some metal work as well. I’m into pretty much anything DIY.
What is a cause that you care about?
Local Artists: From paintings to jewelry, soaps, and other handcrafted items, we love to support local businesses!
Congratulations, Eric!
Your passion, dedication, and positive impact make you a true asset to Millennium. Thank you for your outstanding contributions – You’re “One in a MIL,” Eric!
